An InterOpathon, is a hands-on collaborative event focused on understanding how organizations can translate interoperability standards into real-word solutions. Participating teams have complete access to a robust synthetic healthcare ecosystem called Interoperability Land™ and access to open Application Programing Interfaces (API’s), as well as the myriad of partner provided API’s and cloud services exposed by our sponsors to the teams. The InterOpathon promotes and encourages multi-organizational team building, knowledge sharing, and collaboration. This is also great forum for cloud-friendly vendors to expose their technology and tools to participants.

The InterOpathon will encourage teams to utilize Health Level Seven® (HL7®) Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR®) Accelerator Programs (CARIN, Da Vinci and SIREN/Gravity Project). A main focus will be to help organizations prepare for the final rules from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC). People interested in quality or value-based care, trusted payer exchange, and social determinants of health will be especially interested in participating.

During this two-day connectathon-style event, attendees will utilize HL7 FHIR Accelerator programs to learn or advance a standards-based data exchange, open APIs, and healthcare interoperability standards focusing on real-world implementations, standards-based interoperability technologies, and how to implement the Use Cases within the proposed CMS and ONC rules.
