Laurie Wesolowicz is director II of Pharmacy Services Clinical at Blue Cross Blue Shield of

Michigan.

 

Her clinical expertise includes formulary development, specialty pharmacy initiatives, physician

and pharmacist pay-for- performance incentives, medication safety and clinical utilization

management operations, including pharmacy-related fraud and abuse.

 

Prior to joining Blue Cross, Wesolowicz was a pharmacy management consultant for Huron

Valley Physician’s Association in Ann Arbor, Mich.

 

She’s been an adjunct clinical assistant professor at the University of Michigan since 1995, and

she serves as the director of the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and University of Michigan

Postgraduate Year One Managed Care Pharmacy Residency program.

 

Wesolowicz is also an active member of the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy and

recently served as chair of the Professional Practice Committee.

 

She’s presented on a national platform and has also published several pharmacy-related works.

Wesolowicz was recently appointed to the Michigan Governor’s Task Force on Prescription and

Opioid Drug Abuse.

 

Wesolowicz was recently designated as a Fellow of the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy.

She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Michigan and completed an

American Society of Health-System Pharmacists-accredited residency program at Hamot

Medical Center in Erie, Pa.
