Director, Integrated Physician Advocacy, Michigan State Medical Society
Joe Neller serves as Director of Integrated Physician Advocacy at the Michigan State Medical Society, the state’s professional organization for physicians with over 15,000 members. One of his responsibilities includes serving as lead staff for the MSMS Executive Council of Physician Organizations, which currently represents twelve physician organizations and more than 7,000 physicians statewide. In this role he supports physician organization leaders in their pursuit of practice transformation toward higher quality, lower costs and an enhanced clinical experience for patients and physicians alike.
Previously he served as the Director of Government Affairs for Michigan Academy of Family Physicians. He has experience advocating for professional medical organizations with various state and federal regulatory agencies, and the state capitol and the halls of congress, with a particular focus on the policies of health care reform and advance payment models.
He holds a BA in Social Policy from the James Madison College of Political Science at Michigan State University.
