Jim Edwards currently serves as Director of Software Development for MiHIN where he is responsible for the management of all development activities necessary to deliver secure, high quality, big data software solutions.  Prior to MiHIN, Jim was founder, owner and operator of Savage Fly Corporation, a software and services startup selling and developing installation software targeted towards software developers and enterprise system administrators.

Jim started Savage Fly following a successful stint as senior director of engineering for Symantec, where he created a new organization and product line – Symantec Protection Center, an application which delivers security management and visibility into a company’s security posture spanning small companies, manage service providers and large enterprises (up to 500,000 end nodes).

Jim came to Symantec from Altiris, where he was also senior director of engineering and was responsible for all development and quality assurance in the creation of a set of reusable software models, patterns, and frameworks used as a standard platform for IT management.

Jim earned his Bachelor of Science in Social Policy Analysis from Michigan State University.
